Bicyclist killed in San Jose collision ID'd as 17-year-old boy

A bicyclist who was killed in a collision with a car Tuesday evening in San Jose was a 17-year-old boy, police said Wednesday.

The collision was reported at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of Vista Park Drive and Branham Lane.

The teen was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries a short time later, police said. His name has not yet been released.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

Detectives from the Police Department's traffic investigations unit are handling the case, police said.
