The change follows a warning letter to 23andMe from the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA wants considers the kits medical devices and has ordered a regulatory review.
23andMe, backed by Google Ventures and Facebook billionaire Yuri Milner, says it will still offer ancestry information to new customers as well as raw genetic data without interpretation.
