Bay Area shelter pets flown to Idaho for chance to be adopted

At least 80 dogs and cats were airlifted from Livermore to Boise, Idaho.

The dogs are from shelters in Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda and Sacramento.

Local veterinarians and animal rescue groups are paying for the animals to be flown to Idaho for an annual holiday event.

Since the pets have not been adopted here in the Bay Area, it is hoped they will have a better chance elsewhere.
