SF fire crews investigate collapsed home

SAN FRANCISCO

Neighbors say the home was under renovation and that an attempt had been made to demolish it over a year ago.

Neighbors also told us it is owned by Mel Murphy, a prominent local developer who was also a past president of the San Francisco Building Inspection Commission.

The house was on the side of the hill on Crown Terrace. At least one other home has been evacuated.

There was a smell of natural gas earlier.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

SFPD says the 100 block of Graystone Terrace is closed to traffic.

Building inspectors will be at the scene on Tuesday.

ABC7 News reporter John Alston was live on the scene tweeting out photos.
