SFPD officer buys shoes for barefoot homeless woman

SAN FRANCISCO

SFPD Officer Jackie Selinger encountered a homeless barefoot woman Friday afternoon holding a sign saying she needed new shoes.

Selinger took the woman to a nearby shoe store at Union Square and bought a pair of boots for her, using money out of her own pocket.

Selinger's son Luciano sent a photo to ABC7 News of the good deed through our Facebook page along with a reminder about how giving shouldn't end after the holidays. You can even see the homeless woman's cardboard sign tucked in her bag.
