According to the San Francisco Chronicle, they've extended the deadline for announcing the next venue from March until summer. Organizers are considering five other locations including San Diego and Hawaii.
San Francisco hosted last year's event, which cost taxpayers more money and brought in fewer visitors than expected. There was also a deadly tragedy involving the Swedish team, Artemis Racing.
The mayor's office says it wants the races back -- but not at any cost.
