There have been six more flu deaths in the Bay Area.

Officials say four more people died from the flu in Santa Clara County, a fifth in Alameda County, and one more in Solano County.

There have now been 44 Bay Area fatalities confirmed by county health departments.

Despite the most recent death, Alameda County officials have deactivated their operations center, because of what they described as a decline in flu-related cases in their area.
