On Thursday, San Francisco Giants mascot Lou Seal went to new heights to prove his athleticism follows him off the baseball diamond.

He was just one of the local celebrities, politicians and city residents who rappelled 23 stories down the side of the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero hotel during lunchtime.

"I had a little reservation, but hey I figure it was the only time I was going to rappel and it was free and it was for a worthy cause so might as well do it," said former San Francisco 49ers player Guy McIntyre.

The rappelling was part of Outward Bound California's campaign to provide low-income students with outdoor learning opportunities.
