If you're in the market for a new phone, you definitely want to watch this. It's a crash test for smartphones.

San Francisco-based SquareTrade put four top brands through the ringer. It included a drop test, a slide test and submerging them in water.

The Nexus five showed the most damage.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 did much better than previous years, but still fell behind the winner was the iPhone 5S.

One thing to keep in mind us the iPhone 5C, with its plastic case, did not do as well.
