The San Francisco Business Times is reporting that California wine sales accounted for nearly 64 percent of all wine sales in the U.S. last year. That adds up to a retail value of $23.1 billion.
In terms of volume, they report that the state's wines accounted for 57 percent of all wine shipped in or to the U.S. last year. That accounts for about 215 million out of 375 million cases.
U.S. wine sales grew at a three percent pace overall, with virtually every state in the nation now producing wine.
