The Oakland Coliseum BART station has reopened as police investigate a bomb threat there this morning.

Police completed a sweep of the station around 9 a.m. and did not find a bomb, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

Trains are running through the station, and passengers are being allowed to get on and off trains.

Allison said commuters should still expect delays of eight to 12 minutes on routes going through the Coliseum station.

The station was closed and evacuated at 7:40 a.m. so police and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office could search the area and investigate the report, Allison said.

Bomb-sniffing dogs were called in to help sweep the area.

Allison said someone called 911 to report hearing about a possible bomb threat. He said the caller did not make the bomb threat.
