Parking at BART won't be free at East Bay stations soon.

The transit agency will begin charging $1 for parking between the hours of 4 a.m. and 3 p.m. at various stations that are currently free.

The fee goes into effect Oct. 27 at the Concord Station and Nov. 12 at the North Concord Station. The dates have yet to be determined for the Coliseum and Hayward stations.

To pay the fees, drivers must sign up in advance at BART's web page to link their Clipper card to BART's parking payment program.
