Suspect bailed from car, barricaded himself in the San Francisco's Bayview District

SAN FRANCISCO -- A male suspect has barricaded himself near the Double Rock public housing complex in San Francisco's Bayview District today after fleeing from a vehicle in an effort to evade police, a police spokeswoman said.

The San Francisco Police Department's SWAT team responded to the area, near Cameron Way, around 10:30 a.m., San Francisco police spokeswoman Grace Gatpandan said.

The male suspect, who police believe to be a wanted individual, apparently jumped out of a vehicle and ran toward the Double Rock public housing complex, Gatpandan said.

Police have not said exactly why this individual is considered wanted by police, nor where exactly in the area he has barricaded himself.
