Bear spotted near homes in Southern Calfornia's La Canada Flintridge neighborhood

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. -- Fish and Wildlife officials are searching Southern California's La Canada Flintridge neighborhood after a bear was seen roaming around the area.

The wranglers, along with Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, looked for the bear in the 4700 block of Hillard Avenue.

The animal was spotted cooling off in a pool and then it stepped out and wandered around in a backyard.

It eventually climbed halfway up a tree on Jarvis Avenue. Authorities decided to wait it out in an effort to push it east toward the ravine.
