WOODSIDE, Calif. (KGO) -- Firefighters are mopping up after a brush fire broke out late Thursday afternoon in Woodside, along I-280 near Canada Road.

Decreased visibility due to heavy smoke slowed down traffic along the freeway during the evening commute. For a time the CHP closed two northbound lanes to the right on I-280.

Power was knocked out in the area to roughly 7,500 customers, but has since been restored.

The CHP is saying a downed power line of Canada Road and I-280 may have started the brush fire.
