BURLINGAME, Calif. (KGO) -- Another Caltrain has collided with a car, the sixth such accident to occur over the past few weeks.

This latest case happened around 11 p.m. on Wednesday in Burlingame.

More than 200 passengers were onboard the northbound train when it collided with the vehicle at the Bayswater crossing, just off California Avenue. It's not a well-lit area, which may have contributed to some of the confusion.

Witnesses say a woman got stuck after she turned onto the tracks thinking it was a street. She was able to make it out safely with help from a Good Samaritan.

"The train's fine. Everything is working properly. For safety, we did allow passengers to get off and called another train to pick them up and take them to their destination," said a Caltrain representative.

In late September, a train stranded nearly 900 passengers for more than an hour.

Caltrain has been criticized for how they handled some of these incidents. The CEO has since apologized, saying they must do better.
