ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- A Caltrans crew made an unexpected discovery in the East Bay. They recovered eight large bags of marijuana plants along Highway 4 in Antioch on Thursday.

The workers took the pot back to their maintenance yard and contacted Contra Costa CHP.

The officers tweeted out photos before they took charge of the marijuana.

They will process it and eventually dispose of it.
