Police in Concord are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in front of a popular nightclub.

CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- A suspect was arrested after a man died in a Concord shooting early Saturday morning.

Witnesses say there may have been a fight before the fatal shooting. "I couldn't hear the words. I knew it was on bad terms. He got shot twice, fell. He was fighting for his life," witness Naweed Shahab said.

The shooting happened outside the Nica Lounge just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Shahab says the alleged shooter quickly left the scene. Concord police served a search warrant for a possible suspect at a home on Teresa Street in Oakley, closing two blocks surrounding the home. That suspect was not found during the warrant search, but was later arrested after being injured in a single-car crash.

Friends identified the victim as Rob Frazier, who often worked as a security guard at the bar.

"He was that guy you could rely on," friend Micah Bittner said. "He was that guy who was always there."

The club where the shooting occurred will be closed until Tuesday.
