Crew worker in critical condition following fall down elevator shaft
A construction worker is in critical condition following a fall down an elevator shaft at Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A construction worker is in critical condition following a fall down an elevator shaft at Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.

The scaffold was inside an elevator shaft.

It is not known how far the crew member fell or what caused the scaffolding to collapse.

He was taken to San Francisco general and is in critical condition with a leg injury.

Emergency crews have cleared the area.

The museum is currently closed for construction. To complete the construction that is part of the museum's transformation, it has been necessary to move SFMOMA's exhibitions and programs off site.
