Crews rescue man from Thornton Beach cliff in Daly City
SKY7 was over a cliff rescue at Thornton State Beach in Daly City on Wednesday evening.

DALY CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Crews have rescued a man who was stuck on in a crevice of a steep cliff at Thornton State Beach in Daly City Wednesday evening, officials say.

North County Fire Authority officials say the man somehow got wedged between a steep 500-foot cliff off of Skyline Boulevard.

The incident was first reported at 6:06 p.m. and it took officials an hour to rescue him after locating him in the crevice.

SKY7 was over the rescue near John Daly and Skyline Boulevard. The person was seen airlifted by a CHP helicopter around 7 p.m.

The man was taken into an ambulance and was transported to a hospital and rescue officials say that it was lucky that it was not foggy at the time of the rescue because it would've been too busy for the CHP chopper to assist.

North County Fire Authority officials say the do not have information on his condition.
