There are new details in the NFL's Deflate-Gate scandal, dealing with underinflated footballs.

A locker room attendant for the New England Patriots did try to put an unapproved football into the AFC Championship game.

That's according to ABC7's sister network, ESPN.

Their report says NFL investigators have spoken with Jim McNally, a part-time employee of the Kraft Group, a company owned by Patriots Owner Robert Kraft.

An alternative referee for the game tells ESPN that once the underinflated ball was noticed, he notified the league's Vice President of Game Operations, who was at the game in a press box.

The footballs in question did not make it into the game.
