PHILADELPHIA (KGO) -- Bernie Sanders received a two minute and 53 second standing ovation in Philadelphia Monday night.

It was a welcome befitting a man who gave his all, who never gave in, but finally accepted that it was time to step aside.

Bernie Sanders was booed by the crowd when he asked them to support the Clinton/Kaine ticket.

In the California delegation, there were tears, cheers and certainly some disappointment.

But Sanders did his best to pull them together and throw his considerable weight behind Hillary Clinton. "Based on her ideals and leadership, Clinton must become the next president of the united states," he said.
