Black Friday shoppers score deals at Livermore outlets
Many early-bird shoppers have been scoring deals at the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore.

LIVERMORE, Calif. (KGO) -- The outlet stores in Livermore kicked off Black Friday at 3 p.m. Thursday. The mall will be open for 31 hours, closing at 10 p.m. on Friday.

"We got here at 10 p.m. (Thursday) and we have been here for a really long time. The deals are great but the lines aren't worth it for some stores," said Asha Morgan of Oakland as she headed home at 5 a.m. Friday.

With Black Friday deals now starting online earlier in the week, we asked shoppers if they really needed to be at the stores to get the deals.

"You definitely could've gotten the deals on your computer but you can't try things on and see if you really love it so it was worth coming here. But there's things we could have waited till cyber Monday for," said Kaiya Johnson of El Cerrito.

There were long lines to get into some stores like Adidas, Nike and Tory Burch. The Gap offered 60% off of everything in the store and had a line out the door to get in. But overall, shoppers reported seeing fewer people here than in years past.

"I think there's less people this year. I came last year and it was pretty crowded. I think a lot of people are going to shipping at home and getting things delivered at home and it's convenient. But I like shopping," said Heather Schumacher of Roseville.

If you would like to try the Black Friday shopping experience here next year, we noticed the crowds really thin out between 5 am and 8 am. The parking lot was filling back up after 8:00- one woman said at 8:45 that it took her 20 minutes to find a parking space.
