SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Administrators at San Jose State University face charges of racism from students over an alleged racist comment made by a university donor.

Student activists took their complaints to administrators on Monday over a comment made by a member of the Tower Foundation Board.

SJSU student Anisah Reeves told ABC7 News that the donor said, "I contribute to this university because these little Latinas don't have the DNA to be successful." She adds, "Once an informal complaint was filed, nothing was done for seven to eight months."

Another student, Rogelio Garcia said, "I would like for a campus where it's diverse and anyone can feel safe, feel welcome."

SJSU president says his office is investigating what happened and determining what will happen next.

This follows a student being the target of racism inside a residence hall in 2013.
