UCSF gets $500 million from single donor
The University of California San Francisco received a $500 million gift.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The University of California, San Francisco just got the largest donation in UC history, and one of the biggest donations ever in the U.S.

The family foundation of Helen Diller just gifted UCSF $500 million.

Diller was a longtime supporter of the University and San Francisco native who passed away in 2015.

UCSF says most of the money will go towards supporting faculty, new recruiting and helping students finish school with less debt.
