'Beaches' author to open emotional new play to San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Do you remember the movie "Beaches?"

It left many viewers in tears and now the woman who wrote the book has a play opening this month in San Jose.

Author Iris Rainer Dart and actress Susan Gundunas stopped by ABC7 News to talk about their new endeavor, "People in the Picture," beginning next week at 3 Below Theaters in San Jose.

Performances go through May 13.
