Crews prepare for rain during Oscar arrivals
An associate producer for the Oscars' preshow and red carpet arrivals made the call to put up a tent with the threat of rain coming Sunday.

LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- We're in the final sprint to the Oscars Friday night and Hollywood's stars are ready to shine.

There is a chance of rain on the big night, so workers aren't taking any chances. They will tent the entire Red Carpet ahead of Sunday, so it will look a lot like last year.

That's just one of many elements that go into preparing for the Oscars to make sure that it is a star-studded success.

It's game time in Hollywood and the countdown is on to the Oscars.

From rolling out the Red Carpet to polishing up the sought after prizes. And even wheeling in the big man himself, everyone is racing to get ready for the big night.

Chef to the stars, Wolfgang Puck is putting the final touches on his decadent menu. And all eyes are on first time Academy Award host Neil Patrick Harris. He has plenty of award show experience, but the Oscars are different.

"A who's who of Hollywood as well as millions of people at home will be watching him. I think he knows what's at stake here," ABC Entertainment Reporter Lesley Messer said.

But this isn't just about who walks away with Hollywood's top prize. Step aside Oscar, this is also fashion's biggest night. "What people at home don't realize is how much effort goes into one look," stylist Leslie Fremar said.

The pressure is on and the stars are pulling out all the stops to wow on the Red Carpet.

What's different this year, is the Oscar statuettes will be show on a digital screen instead of being displayed on the Red Carpet.
