The Simpsons voice actor Hank Azaria delivered the commencement speech at his alma mater Tufts University on May 22, where the star gave passionate advice on the importance of individualism and forging your own path. He also gave a humorous anecdote about how his speech was the first written assignment he ever turned in on time to the school.
But the highlight of Azaria's thoughtful speech was when he passed on advice as some of his classic characters from the long-running animated show. Chief Wiggum, Moe the Bartender and even Comic Book Guy spoke and shared some not-so-great animated advice with the graduates.
"Kids, you didn't hear this from me, but if a cop even thinks that you're going to throw up in your back seat, they will immediately let you go." - Chief Wiggum
"Remember please, children, that in life there is nothing that is not so disgusting that it cannot be sold on a heated roller at a nearly-criminal markup." - Apu Nahasapeemapetilon
"Kids remember, the sea is a cruel mistress, but Medford is worse so you'll be fine." - Sea Captain
"Life is like the Star Wars movies: some of it's great, some of it sucks, but you have no choice to sit through all of it, similar to the commencement speech you're listening to right now." - Comic Book Guy
Azaria, who graduated from Tufts in 1987, has been voicing characters on The Simpsons since 1989.
