ABC7's Chris Nguyen spoke one-on-one with Latin Grammy award-winning artist Luis Fonsi about Salesforce's efforts to help raise $1 million for Puerto Rico hurricane relief.

Latin Grammy award-winning artist, Luis Fonsi, of Despacito fame, addressed the crowd at Salesforce's Success Cloud keynote session Wednesday and encouraged attendees to donate to Puerto Rico hurricane relief. The company has pledged to raise at least $1 million for recovery efforts on the island.

"We have to do something," says Fonsi, who was born and raised in the U.S. territory, but now lives in Miami. "We have to use our platform to get people together to raise money to help our families who still have no electricity and no food."

San Francisco-based company executive, Maria Martinez, who is considered by many to be a trailblazer in the world of tech, was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She spoke to ABC7 News about Salesforce's philanthropic commitment and why it is a mission near and dear to her heart.

"I take very seriously the fact that I must be a role model," said Martinez. "Not only for my daughter but all the kids and everyone (else) that I can help."

Salesforce has also committed to raising $2 million to help with the North Bay wildfire relief efforts. In fact, the company is donating the concert production equipment from Tuesday's Dreamfest benefit to the Band Together Bay Area relief concert on Thursday.
