Rogue One: A Star Wars Story doesn't hit theaters until December 16, but you can already meet one of the new droids from the film, C2-B5.

The Imperial astromech droid was revealed on The Star Wars Show on Wednesday, and looks like a dark, sleek version of R2-D2. C2-B5, though, isn't designed to be as free-thinking and self-reliant as R2-D2. You can see the droid in the video below:

"The galactic Empire relies on astromech droids to maintain its machinery," host Peyer Townley said on the show. "But unlike the Rebel Alliance, Imperial technicians do not grant their droids independence and subject them to frequent memory wipes to keep them subservient."

If C2-B5 will ever break free from the Empire's memory-wiping shackles and join the Rebel Alliance in Rogue One remains unclear. You'll just have to see C2-B5 for yourself when the movie hits theaters this December.
