SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The tunnel going into and out of Marin County will soon be called the Robin Williams Tunnel. The California State Senate approved a resolution to change the name of the Waldo Tunnel to honor the late actor and comedian.
The state senate approved a resolution to change the name of the Waldo Tunnel to honor the late actor and comedian.
A woman from Tiburon started an Change.org petition to rename the tunnel. Williams grew up and lived in the Bay Area. It will cost $3,000 to change the signs which will have to come from donations. The renaming could happen as soon as this fall.
