HAYWARD, Calif. -- A 32-year-old man was fatally shot in Hayward on Monday night, according to police.
The shooting was reported at 9:27 p.m. in the 28000 block of Biscayne Avenue near Ruus Elementary School.
Officers arrived and found the victim, who had suffered a gunshot wound and was unresponsive. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The victim's name is not yet being released by the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
The suspect in the shooting was described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s with light-colored skin who is 5 feet 6 or 7 inches tall, heavy set and wore a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, according to police.
