SAN JOSE (KGO) -- A Cinderella story of sorts is playing out on San Jose's east side, but the public is being asked to play the part of their fairy godmother.

A group of students at Andrew Hill High School has qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship in St. Louis. But the competition is next week, and the kids, who are from a low-income neighborhood, can't afford the trip. They've already shipped their robot and the students hope to follow shortly. The team has set up a gofundme account. They need to raise $15,000 to cover travel expenses.
