WASHINGTON (KGO) -- Some Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are using their G.I. bill benefits to attend colleges that are being investigated by the government.

One probe focuses on Corinthian Collelges,which is the parent company of Heald College.

The chain just reached a deal with the Department of Education to sell or close more than 90 campuses across the country.

Senate Education Chairman Tom Harkin of Iowa will release a report Wednesday that shows where G.I. bill money is spent.

Corinthian Colleges was one of the top ten recipients of government money during the 2012-2013 school year.
