Fans thrilled after Warriors complete sweep of Pelicans in NBA playoffs Game 4

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- The Golden State Warriors took care of the New Orleans Pelicans with a 109-98 win Saturday night, sweeping the first-round series in four games. Fans all over the Bay Area were thrilled with the win.

From the start, fans say they never second guessed their team would win Game 4 of the first round series. They packed Englander Sports Pub in San Leandro while donned in blue and gold, their spirits were still riding on a high from Game 3

"This game was such a walk through after Game 3," said Warriors fan Robert Perry. "We had our ultimate comeback, so amazing. "This game here showed us how good we really are."

Fellow fan Sterling Preston added, "We kind of knew that we were gonna win just by how they were shooting the ball, doing defense, and everything you know. Their offense is killer, defense is killer. Just glad we were able to come for the win today."

The Warriors maintained a lead over the Pelicans throughout the game. Still, every shot made had hearts racing and fans on the edge of their seats.

Certainly strength in numbers could be seen and felt at the pub.

"I'm with my parents, my uncle, my husband, sister-in-law, we are all out here," said Warriors fan Suzanne Flores.

New Englander owner Roy Childress added, "It's wonderful, everybody's having good time."

Childress has been home to Dub Nation so much this week that he's had to call in extra staff and order extra food. It will all start again with round two of the playoff series.

"I think we are going all the way to the championships," said fan Brandon Jones.

Fans across the Bay Area celebrated the win. The last playoff sweep for the Warriors was 40 years ago.
