Green Day's anti-Trump chant ignites the internet

LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- Bay Area punk rockers Green Day solidified their political roots with 2004's mega-hit American Idiot album aimed at the Bush Administration. They reignited that voice at the 2016 American Music Awards with a memorable chant aimed at President-elect Donald Trump.[br /][br /][b]RELATED: [url HREF="http://abc7news.com/entertainment/top-ama-moments/1617414/" TARGET="" REL=""]Top AMA moments[/url][/b][br /][Ads /][br /]During a pyrotechnic filled rendition of "Bang Bang," a song that the band has said relates to social media and mass shootings in America from their 2016 release Revolution Radio, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong took to the front of the stage and began to chant, "No Trump, no KKK no fascist USA."[br /][br /]Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt both grew up in Pinole, California while drummer Tre Cool played in a band called The Lookouts in rural Mendocino County.
