2 hospitalized after CHP chase ends in crash in Hayward
Police in Hayward are searching for the driver who led the CHP on a dangerous chase before crashing and bringing down power lines.

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- Police in Hayward are searching for the driver who led the CHP on a dangerous chase before crashing and bringing down power lines. Around 1 a.m. the CHP pulled the man over for a minor traffic violation. He took off and crashed a short time later.

The driver fled on foot while officers tended two people in the vehicle. A female passenger and child were inside the car and taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police said the woman is in her 20s and the child is under 10-years-old.

West Tennyson Road was closed at Ruus Road due to low hanging wires.
