Man arrested in murder of Hayward man

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- There's an update on a burglary that happened in Hayward last week in which a man was found dead next to a U-Haul truck.

He's now been identified as 42-year-old Marty Thorton of Hayward.

Police say he died of blunt force trauma during the break-in at Life Chiropractic College last Friday.

His suspected accomplice, 49-year-old Tyler Johnston, also of Hayward, was arrested for Thorton's murder.

Police also were able to determine that neither Thorton nor Johnston had any ties to Life Chiropractic College.
