DAVIS, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials with the California Department of Public Health reported Friday that a person who recently traveled to West Africa has tested negative for Ebola.

The person went to Mercy General Hospital complaining of Ebola-like symptoms. They were then transferred to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, which the CDC has designated as one of four designated Ebola treatment sites in California.

UC Davis Med Center has treated several patients who appeared to have Ebola-like symptoms, but all the tests came back negative.
