Make-A-Wish surprises Bay Area teen at Macy's in SF
A 15-year-old from Union City thought he was just getting a cooking lesson at Macy's in San Francisco, but got a bigger surprise thanks to Make-A-Wish.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- This is the season for granting wishes. And one Bay Area student got one to share with his whole family.

ABC7 News was at Macy's in Union Square on Friday as Make-A-Wish surprised Angelo Vicini.

The 15-year-old recently received a kidney transplant.

Angelo thought he was going to get a cooking lesson, but learned instead he was getting his big wish -- a cruise to Italy with his family.

"I'm so thankful for everything," he said. "I know some kids aren't as lucky as me. They don't get their wish to come true. I am just so grateful that i got my wish to come true."

Before the big surprise, Angelo got a quick cookie making lesson by a chef and then learned how to dirty up his apron.

The event took place at Macy's because the retailer raises money for Make-A-Wish. The company granted 50 wishes nationwide on Friday.
