Innovation to unfold at this weekend's Maker Faire

SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- Flames may rise from the San Mateo Events Center this weekend, but there's no reason to panic.

This year's Maker Faire brings together thousands of artists, engineers and pyro-technicians and it has gotten so big the center can barely hold it.

Dale Dougherty is the creator of Maker Faire, the event that blurs the line between art and engineering. "When I walk around I see things that I would've never thought that existed," Dougherty said.

The Faire will be held May 16 through 17.
