Man suspected in fatal Vallejo arson turns self into police
Officials say a man accused of setting fire to a house in Vallejo that killed a 5-year-old boy turned himself into Richmond police today.

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials say a man accused of setting fire to a house in Vallejo that killed his 5-year-old son turned himself into Richmond police today.

Police say Darrylone Shuemake, Sr., cooperated with Richmond police when he turned himself in. He is now being held at the Vallejo Police Department.

Police said Shuemake used an accelerant to start the house fire that killed who they believe to be the suspect's son.

The mother and her child were inside the home sleeping at the time of the fire.

The mother suffered second and third-degree burns trying to rescue her son.
