OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A man who fled from Oakland police officers Sunday died after getting trapped between two buildings.

Police used a ruler to show that the space that the man wedged himself into was just 12 inches.

The man took off running from his vehicle on 65th Avenue. He was found half an hour later stuck between the buildings, unconscious.

Paramedics tried performing CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say the man was wanted on a $10,000 warrant.
