SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The annual March for Elephants is making its way through San Francisco today. Just to be clear - no elephants are actually marching.

March for Elephants is a group that brings attention to the thousands of African elephants killed each year for their ivory.

The group will start the march at Jefferson Park Square, gather around the Chinese consulate, then rally at the U.N. Plaza.

China is the world's largest market for illegal ivory but the government there has recently pledged to end domestic ivory trade.
