They said it couldn't be done, but it's about to happen -- a show that appeals to fans of both "Downton Abbey" and "Ironman" premieres Tuesday night on ABC7.
"Marvel's Agent Carter" is a mini-series about Peggy Carter, a spy some Marvel fans may remember as Captain America's love interest in the 1940's.
The show focuses on her backstory, in a film noir style period piece about a woman who defied cultural norms.
ABC7 News anchor Kristen Sze talked to the star of the show earlier this week.
"She doesn't have any super powers, so she has to use the tools that she finds around her and her physical capabilities to make decisions very quickly and instinctively," said actress Hayley Atwell. "I think it's very attractive to many different people because, being a period piece, it's visually stunning. It stands alone. And it's very different from "Agents of Shield" because it's only eight episodes so it's more like a condensed mini-series and I think those reasons mean that people, if they were flipping the channel, would instantly be struck by how it looks and want to watch on because of the wit of the dialogue and how quick and fast-paced it is. And the humor, as well."
"Marvel's Agent Carter" premieres Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on ABC7.
