Missing 82-year-old Oakland man found safe

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police say missing man Peter Gales, 82, has been found safe after he walked away from his residence on Sequoyah View Drive Saturday at 4 p.m.

He was walking his small, white dog at the time he was last seen, which was also found safe.

Police say Gales was considered at risk because he suffers from dementia and diabetes. He walks with a limp.

The Oakland Police Department appreciates the assistance of the community in locating Gales.
