'Titanic,' Disney's 'Dumbo' added to prestigious National Film Registry
The Library of Congress announced the addition of 25 films to the registry, including ''Titanic," ''Field of Dreams," "Die Hard," "The Goonies" and the 1941 Disney Classic "Dumbo."

LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- The Library of Congress announced the addition of 25 films to the registry, including ''Titanic," ''Field of Dreams," "Die Hard," "The Goonies" and the 1941 Disney Classic "Dumbo."



The library selects movies to preserve based on their cultural, historic or artistic importance.





Here are all 25 movies being added to the National Film Registry this year.



"Interior New York Subway, 14th Street to 42nd Street," 1905


"The Sinking of the Lusitania," 1918


"He Who Gets Slapped," 1924.


"Fuentes family home movies collection," 1920s and 1930s. From a family in Corpus Christi, Texas.


"With the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in Spain," 1937-38


"Only Angels Have Wings," 1939. Cary Grant and Jean Arthur in "male melodrama."


"Dumbo," 1941


"Gentleman's Agreement," 1947.


"Ace in the Hole (aka Big Carnival)," 1951.


"Spartacus," 1960.


"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," 1967.


"Wanda," 1971.


"Lives of Performers," 1972.


"Time and Dreams," 1976.


"Superman," 1978


"Boulevard Nights," 1979.


"The Goonies,"1985
