It looks like New England Patriots player Vince Wilfork is a winner on and off the field. After Sunday's AFC Championship victory over the Indianapolis Colts, the all-star defensive tackle assisted police in rescuing a woman trapped in her car following a rollover crash.

Massachusetts State Police said in a press release that when they arrived at the scene of the crash near Gillette Stadium in Foxborough shortly after midnight on Monday, Wilfork was checking on the woman, who was unable to get out of her Jeep. As police held the door open, the 6 foot 1 inch, 323 pound Wilfork reached into the car to help the woman out with one hand.

The driver, 38-year-old Mary Ellen Brooks, was arrested for DUI. Police did not say if she had attended the game.

Wilfork left after making sure the police did not need additional assistance.

The Patriots will face the defending champion Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.
