School districts around the Bay Area are ramping up their effort to attract school workers, to help fill a shortage blamed on high housing costs and low unemployment.
The Mercury News reports there are shortages on everything from teachers to bus drivers, cafeteria workers and more. So, districts are trying to get the word out about the perks they offer.
The San Mateo Union High School District, for example, a year-round full-time job includes three weeks vacation, 15 holidays, 12 days of sick leave, medical, dental and vision coverage and a public pension.
