Santa Cruz to host winter storm preparedness workshop

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa Cruz is hosting a free winter storm preparedness workshop on Saturday.

The exceptionally warm Pacific Ocean water known as El Nino could bring a lot of rain to California over the next few months.

Santa Cruz city departments and community agencies want to make sure people are ready for what's to come.

The event will be held at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium on Church Street. Saturday's workshop is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
